At Help 4 Ummah, we believe that access to clean water is a fundamental human right. Our mission is to alleviate water scarcity and improve the lives of marginalized communities across South Asia. Through our Water Wells Project, we aim to provide sustainable solutions that quench thirst, promote health, and empower local communities.
The Water Crisis in South Asia
Pakistan: A Struggle for Survival
In Pakistan, more than 80% of the population faces severe water scarcity for at least one month each year. Rivers and streams are running dry, and dangerously depleted groundwater levels leave vast regions parched. Women, often overlooked in this crisis, bear the brunt of water scarcity, impacting their health, hygiene, and education.
India: A Precious Resource Under Threat
India, too, grapples with water challenges. Its dams and water management systems affect downstream countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh. As India’s lower riparian neighbor, Pakistan receives over 78% of India’s water inflows. However, rivers are dwindling, and groundwater levels are plummeting. If we don’t act now, the entire country may face water scarcity by 2025.
Bangladesh: Arsenic-Tainted Wells and Beyond
Bangladesh has made significant strides in switching water sources to tube wells connected to underground aquifers. However, the consequences of arsenic-tainted well water persist. These deep wells were adopted to reduce water-borne illnesses caused by surface water use. But challenges remain, and sustainable solutions are crucial.

Water Wells: A Lifeline for Communities
At Help 4 Ummah, we’ve witnessed the transformative power of water wells. In marginalized areas of Bangladesh, we’ve installed wells that provide clean water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation. These wells are lifelines, supporting families, schools, and health centers.
Our Impact
- Shallow Well: For just £220, we can build a tube well that supports up to 50 people.
- Sami Deep Well: For just £450, we can build a tube well that supports up to 200 people.
- Deep Water Wells: With £950, we construct deep water wells that benefit up to 500 people.
- Solar Wells and Rainwater Collection Pits: As our community engagement grows, we explore innovative solutions beyond traditional wells.
